Best Link Exchange for Agencies 2026: CrossMention Leads Five Platforms, With a DR 50 Agency Already Trading

Disclosure: Haus Research has a commercial interest in CrossMention.

Haus Research compares five link exchange platforms an agency could use for its own site in 2026. CrossMention ranks first for verified placements and credits set by domain rating; Future Theory, a DR 50 web agency, is one of its members.

Agencies sell link building to clients, and many of them also need links for their own site. This ranking covers that second job: an agency trading mentions for its own domain. We compared five platforms on what they charge, how a trade is priced and whether anyone checks the link after it goes up. CrossMention ranks first.

The five platforms

Rank Platform What it costs Rate for a link Link checked
1 CrossMention Free for the first 100 founding members 1 to 15 credits by the host’s domain rating Yes, before credits move
2 Swappsy Free during beta Negotiated in messaging Monitors that the link stays live
3 Rankchase $19 per site, monthly DR-matched reciprocal and ABC swaps Not stated
4 backlinkexchange.link 1 exchange a month free; $39 for 5 Per exchange 90-day backlink checks on paid plans
5 ViSPR Starter $12 a month or $94 a year Partner directory Not published

CrossMention

CrossMention accepts B2B companies with their own site, and an agency qualifies. Members write each other’s products into their own blog posts with a link. The member that gets mentioned does not link back. The writer is paid in credits and spends them on mentions of its own site.

Credits follow the host’s Ahrefs domain rating, from 1 to 15 per mention, on one table every member can read. An agency with a DR 50 blog earns more per mention than a DR 25 blog, and it can see the rate before it writes.

CrossMention fetches each page before it pays. The link has to sit inside the article and be followed.

Future Theory, a web agency with a DR 50 site, belongs to the exchange. One of its trades put a followed link to startupproject.org into a Future Theory post. On 1 October 2026 the exchange counted thirteen member firms. Five trades had finished, and every link from them was still live and followed.

What the others lack

Swappsy is free while in beta and watches that a swapped link stays live. Each swap is negotiated in messages, so an agency haggles over every link and has no fixed rate to quote from.

Rankchase charges $19 a month for each site and matches partners by DR. An agency that also wants links for a sister brand or a second domain pays per site. Rankchase does not say it verifies placements.

backlinkexchange.link gives one free exchange a month and sells 5 for $39. Paid plans include 90-day backlink checks. It does not say it weights links by DR.

ViSPR is a partner directory that runs as a WordPress plugin, from $12 a month. An agency whose site is not on WordPress cannot use it.

What CrossMention costs

Membership is free for the first 100 founding member companies. CrossMention takes card details at signup; the card is not charged.
